NAPOLI!
I really love Napoli! i believe its the real Italy! The streets are dirty and bustling and loud and crazy! The people are gangster and friendly and loud! Beneath all the dirt and grime lies the real italian experience!
Ill start by firstly informing everyone that ive hired a car to chaperon the ladies in! By the time we waited for trains, caught taxi transfers to our hotels and so forth, it just wasnt practical. Knowing that Napoli was coming up, and the Amalfi coast, i knew we wouldn't be able to cover much ground, especially with Nonna and this heat! My Peugeot 407 is fantastic, it has the luxury of air conditioning and GPS so it makes for a pleasant drive and it didnt take to long to pick up driving on the right side of the road!
We left San Giovanni Rotondo in Foggia during the afternoon, the drive down to Napoli was lovely, the sun was setting and a lady in a minni infront of us was going down on her man, what a lovely first time experience on italian roads! Driving along the auto strad was great, inside my Peugeot it sounded something
like this
"Nathan!! SLOW DOWN PLEASE" Lilly
"LI !! Im on the auto strad, i need to do 130km!" Me
"I DONT CARE! JUST ... JUST SLOW DOWN PLEASE" Li
"WATTA YA WANT ME TO DO !!! DO YOU WANNA DRIVE ? "
" OHH MAY GOD! OH MUMMMA MIA !! OHH PADRE PIO HELP US!!!" Nonna
" JUST EVERYONE BE QUIET!!!" Mum
We arrived to Napoli in the evening, and the ladies were using all the D words. Dump, dirty and disgusting and dangerous! However when inside our BnB, they where overwhelmed with the 1800s ornate walls and ceilings. B words became more appropriate, Beautiful, Bold, Bello, But it doesnt have air-conditioning!
The next morning we left the Peugot parked on the grimy streets (lucky i took out insurance) and wondered around Napoli! The ladies where in their element doing some shopping Napolitano style! In the evening we dined at, i keep saying this, but at the BEST restaurant yet! The food just keeps getting better and better the further south you go! We had the best seafood, and pesce sparda! The only compliant i would have to make Margaret, which drops one star from
my rating, is that the buskers freely walk into the restaurants here and serenate you while you eat your meal, and then unshamefully wait for you to hand over a few Euros. I give the dining experience a tantalising 4 out of 5 stars...
Inside our Bed and Breakfastfor those who are interested i highly recomend this B&B, its in a great location!
