The Agony of Packing

So how does one pack for a two-year adventure? Answer: Very slowly! Unlike other moves I have made in my life, this has proved to be a new challenge. We have to examine each item, one by one. We have created six piles in the process. One very, very small pile that we will take with us to Italy aboard the plane. One shipping pile consisting of a few books that we deem essential to classroom instruction. One pile that will be stored for two years - the litmus test being, "Will we need or want it in two years?" One pile going to donation. One is for sale items. And last but not least, the trash pile.
We are now 16 days from departure. The house is in total chaos. Things are being continually lost because there is constant movement of objects. There is also the list of changes with banks, addresses, etc. etc. Wahhhhh...I'm moving to Italy :-) :-)

Okay Israel... this is your wife... maybe if you spent more time working and less time whining (or should I say wine-ing?), the work would be completed in time for some flyfishing... "I'm just saying..." ;-)

after Beth to add...quit your whining! We don't feel sorry for you! We are, however, looking forward to your send offs, and then to hooking up with you for some vino rosa de la casa (yes, this is still all the Italian I can utter, but is there a more important phrase?).

after Beth to add...quit your whining! We don't feel sorry for you! We are, however, looking forward to sending you off in style and then paying a visit so we can enjoy together many bottles of vino rosa de la casa (still the only Italian I know, but is there a more important phrase?).
