''...the green and troubled land of
tourist brochures and news headlines.''

Quote from: Ireland, A Novel by Frank Delaney

Warmed and cooled by the North Atlantic stream and location respectively, Ireland is never extremely cold or extremely hot.

This celtic isle is stoney grey, rugged mountains, cliffs and dewy greenness. Windswept and misty, you will likely need an umbrella anytime.

From the ring of Kerry to the tatched cottages of Conamera to the Giants Causeway, may the road rise to meet you and may your hassles be small ones.

Ireland has folklore, lively music, dance and haunting ballads. Kiss the Blarney stone and join the locals in one of the pubs which outnumber just about everything for a pint of black and tan, or ten. Then rise up yer skirts and kick up yer heals for a bit of mighty craic with fiddles, harps, jigs and reels.

Hello from Ireland!! Finally got here after a really bad flight from boston. My last day in boston was pretty chill. Went to the red sox game and they finally beat the indians. Truth be told, the seats that I got for the games were pretty shitty, I was in the last 10 rows of right field, not to mention that the seats are made for midgets and my knees were killing me. That night I met a girl and went out and had a few drinks and such. My last day in boston we just hung out in the park [View Full Entry]

Veggie Tales Europe » Ireland » County Cork » Cork
The short list of things I've done this week: Peaposting (hammering giant posts into the ground and tying chicken wire around them for the sole purpose of giving peas something to climb), planting the REST of the leeks (330, I guess, was not enough), transplanting fruit bushes (actually, this was easy), hoeing and planting lettuce, and building elaborate bamboo structures for beans to climb. I have a whole new appreciation for vegetables. It has been fun, though - and it's hard to doubt that veganism is healthy when you see little kids genuinely excited that the peas are ready for [View Full Entry]

Ok, so it is Friday and I'm sorry I haven't been able to get to a computer. This one I am on is shitty so I can't put any pictures up. I will be able to in 2 days when I get to Gallway... Anywho... in Dooblin, we, Jonathan (Israel), Yuval (Israel) and Kyle (Canada) headed out to the most AMAZING pub in the world. It was so quaint and there were 6 people sitting around a bench playing traditional, and i mean traditional, Irish music. It was so amazing I almost cried! WOW... wait until you see the video. Alrighty! don't have time to plug the camera in, so you will have to imagine... met the 3 bikers last night again. We had a blast and hung out with a girl from Hunduras too. We had several Guiness (again). After hanging out with them all night decided that I would take their offer up and meet them at the bus stop at 12:15 this morning! So, I did it and we travelled to Tralee and then to Doolin today. We go to Doolin and we're slightly disappointed so we decided that we will head to the Aran Islands tomorrow, but [View Full Entry]

2nd day in Dingle Europe » Ireland
(pictures in previous blog) Wow... I'm completely blown away by this place. So, Petunia & Daniella and I walked into town and I stopped at the cafe to load some pictures up for you. That was the last time I wrote. I think I forgot to tell you about Mike & Joe who I met on the bus... well... maybe I did, but they were so nice (from NJ)... Anyway here's their picture. I met up with the 2 girls later and we went to a great pub with irish music. We got hit on by older men so we left [View Full Entry]

First Night Europe » Ireland » County Dublin
Morning everyone! Well... what a night. After I wrote you last I headed to the Guniness brewery only to find out that the internet was wrong and they closed earlier than I had anticipated... thus, the reason I am up early (to shower and head back) but it looked cool from the outside! So, after the 45 minute truck out there and back, I returned to eat at a restaurant suggested by Kris... The Bad Ass... I had the most amazing sun dried tomatoe thingy on bread and a great salad. So, for those of you who are worried about my [View Full Entry]

Oh this place is unbelievable... while Dublin was nice, it was very ''Irish''... this place... whole different story. I went to the Guiness plant and OY BOY... that was just amazing... I actually headed to Killarney hoping to do the Ring of Kerry today, but arrived just a little late for that (oh... 5 hours) so i decided i didn't really like Killarney and headed to Dingle on a CRAZY bus ride through the mountains... i did get a little car sick, but met 2 wonderful boys from NJ... they were so nice and fun and we enjoyed talking the whole [View Full Entry]

Hello again from Dublin! My biggest news ... Beth surprised me with my birthday present last night when we arrived back to town. We are going to the U2 concert here in Dublin tonight! Talk about a brilliant (as the Irish would say!) way to celebrate being a quarter of a century old, eh?! :) Becky, I know that you are turning green with envy right now - try not to send a hit man until after the concert, ok?! The tickets were the end to a fabulous weekend out in Western Ireland. Beth and I took the train to Galway [View Full Entry]

Not too much actually. I've been taking walks/hikes with my dog, Timber and my friends Jen and Debbie quite a bit. It's fun, but not Switzerland, Ireland or Italy! It's what I have... 2 weeks ago we went to see Jack Johnson in Toronto and that was such a blast. Great people that I went with. Check out our pictures... Jack in Toronto [View Full Entry]
