''...the green and troubled land of
tourist brochures and news headlines.''

Quote from: Ireland, A Novel by Frank Delaney

Warmed and cooled by the North Atlantic stream and location respectively, Ireland is never extremely cold or extremely hot.

This celtic isle is stoney grey, rugged mountains, cliffs and dewy greenness. Windswept and misty, you will likely need an umbrella anytime.

From the ring of Kerry to the tatched cottages of Conamera to the Giants Causeway, may the road rise to meet you and may your hassles be small ones.

Ireland has folklore, lively music, dance and haunting ballads. Kiss the Blarney stone and join the locals in one of the pubs which outnumber just about everything for a pint of black and tan, or ten. Then rise up yer skirts and kick up yer heals for a bit of mighty craic with fiddles, harps, jigs and reels.

Since jen and i stayed home while everyone else was kissing the blarney stone, the neihbors decided to take jen and i out to the bar. Well... it was more than we bargained for. I think they thought we could handle more... This was not the case. Jen got sick. I almost did. I think we just ended up passing out. All in all tho we met some great new irish people, girls actually. They were really sweet. ... I also am adding some pics from Horans Night Club when we went with the neighbors. A bunch of us ended up [View Full Entry]

Ok so the past few nights ok for the past week we have been drinking like fishes and have been having a great time. Jen and i got to know our neighbors and we actually enjoy their company. They make fun of us and it makes us relaize the differences between us and our countries. Theyre outlook on life is so different from ours and they actually make me feel kind of spoiled living in the UNited States. They call us F*ckin Yanks... and theyr accent is just hilarious. You can barely understand them because they speak so fast, and they [View Full Entry]

Drawing Closer Europe » Ireland » County Dublin
Well, it's my birthday today. Happy Birthday Shannon. lol, yes that would mean I am laughing at myself. hehe. Today has been an amazing day of drawing closer to God. There are many people in my life at the moment who know exactly who God is. They may even believe in Him and claim to have a faith in Him...yet they do nothing about this belief or faith. Faith without works is dead. This got me thinking into my own life and how much I rely on the people around me to convict me to truth. When in all reality I [View Full Entry]

On the second Saturday of this October, good friends Sean and Judith got married in Our Lady of the Valley Church near the village of Beaufort in County Kerry, Ireland. I was standing up along with Sean’s dad Art (the best man) in this very special happening in the land of Leprechauns and pots of gold at the end of rainbows. My wife Marilyn and I flew Continental to Shannon Airport, where I rented a car. Beaufort, having limited bus services, necessitated the car rental. I truly detest driving in the States, so why take up the challenge of a completely [View Full Entry]

After four months in London it was lovely to see a friendly face from home when our friend Lin arrived from Adelaide to begin her tour of Europe. The three of us had planned a long weekend in Dublin and we were up early and on our way to Heathrow early on Friday morning to experience a little bit of the Emerald Isle. Flying Aer Lingus we were looking forward to being served by stewards with lilting Irish accents but as it turned out most, if not all of the air stewards were of eastern european background and our ears would [View Full Entry]

After our first few days on getting to know the area, and having class in the morning time(our only time of class on the entire trip) the professor planned a group trip to the Dingle Peninsula, led by the infamous Michael kissane (MAD MIKE!!!) I can not get over this guy.. he is absolutely terrible, and perverted.haha but it was funny. we nick named him MAD MIKE. So we started out in the bus going out of Tralee, towards the Dingle Peninsula. We stopped at a fabulous view of the Irish quilt(as people would say) In my opinion, this picture describes [View Full Entry]
