''...the green and troubled land of
tourist brochures and news headlines.''

Quote from: Ireland, A Novel by Frank Delaney

Warmed and cooled by the North Atlantic stream and location respectively, Ireland is never extremely cold or extremely hot.

This celtic isle is stoney grey, rugged mountains, cliffs and dewy greenness. Windswept and misty, you will likely need an umbrella anytime.

From the ring of Kerry to the tatched cottages of Conamera to the Giants Causeway, may the road rise to meet you and may your hassles be small ones.

Ireland has folklore, lively music, dance and haunting ballads. Kiss the Blarney stone and join the locals in one of the pubs which outnumber just about everything for a pint of black and tan, or ten. Then rise up yer skirts and kick up yer heals for a bit of mighty craic with fiddles, harps, jigs and reels.

We finally arrived in Dublin, we are staying on a very busy street and we are staying at the Kinlay House another hostel. it is not the cleanest place, but it will do... Jen, Bev, Me, Dvora, Zach, and jeff are sharing a room, there are 3 bunkbeds, and the shower is disgusting, but its doable. Today we decided to get around and look at the city. We did this hop on hop off type tour. It bring you all around dublin in a double decker, and at each stop you can get off, and just go back to the station [View Full Entry]

DUBLIN: We flew into Dublin & stayed @ a shithouse hostel, so first thing the next day we hired a car and hit the road for a week. ENISCOTHY: A short drive to this little village, we where a bit buggered so we stayed at a b&b in a little pub, walked round the town not too much to see. THE RING OF KERRY The ROK cuts a loop around a peninsular & there is some top scenery. Mountains, forests, roads hugging the hills along the coast with H2O falls roadside, little villages, pub, beaches & very skinny roads. (The roads r 2 way but most of the time u can only just fit 1 so if another car comes u havta back it up to a wide spot) We stayed in a little village called Catherdaniel for a night in a little hostel that we had to our selves. There was a real nice beach & lads where having a [View Full Entry]

Last time I visited Europe I lost my soul. I did not loose it all at once, but in small increments. As such, bits and pieces of my soul are floating around the United Kingdom and it is about time I started finding them. I captured a piece back last weekend from Beavertail in Edinburgh, and so now off to Liverpool, where I am certain the Embassie Hostel will offer me a small bit of it back at a reasonable price. What started as a simple day trip to Liverpool, brought the birth of, what is sure to be one of [View Full Entry]

well all ready to leave Tralee.. and then were off to dublin . I cant wait. Only 4 more weeks until its time to get home. The culture is so different , the food is the worst, and worst of all, i dont have my boyfriend to share it with. Zach sent me the cutest card. Most of the time if im sitting here not occupied, i get depressed, but then i think only 28 more days. I have been debating whether or not to spend thanksgiving with zach and his fam, because then i wont be able to see mine.. [View Full Entry]

so much fun!!! i just arrived back from my 6 day southern ireland tour today. i had a great time. we got to see and do so much stuff but it was really relaxed and cruisey - at the same time as seeing a lot. hmmmm. what did i do. i can't really remember as i haven't had any time to reflect on it but a few major highlights were ... kissing the blarney stone, seeing the cliffs of moher, driving around the dingle peninsular and the ring of kerry. the scenery is absolutely amazing in ireland. i was told how [View Full Entry]

Hello again! yesterday we went on our last group trip of ireland. we made our way to Galway city. It was just another city like every other in ireland really known for shopping, everywhere you went there was a store.. the professor just wanted us to get out there and see what else there is. We also came upon a man singing on top of a trash can... Wow... We walked around the city, and actually went to see a comedian, very liked over there. His name is Karl Spain. After we left galway this morning, we went back to the [View Full Entry]
