''...the green and troubled land of
tourist brochures and news headlines.''

Quote from: Ireland, A Novel by Frank Delaney

Warmed and cooled by the North Atlantic stream and location respectively, Ireland is never extremely cold or extremely hot.

This celtic isle is stoney grey, rugged mountains, cliffs and dewy greenness. Windswept and misty, you will likely need an umbrella anytime.

From the ring of Kerry to the tatched cottages of Conamera to the Giants Causeway, may the road rise to meet you and may your hassles be small ones.

Ireland has folklore, lively music, dance and haunting ballads. Kiss the Blarney stone and join the locals in one of the pubs which outnumber just about everything for a pint of black and tan, or ten. Then rise up yer skirts and kick up yer heals for a bit of mighty craic with fiddles, harps, jigs and reels.

It is with absolute brokenness that I send this message to friends and family everywhere. I sit here thinking of just where I should start...to tell you about my life, week, HA! Last few days...these are not going to be sweet harmonious words that make the heart full of joy. Tearfully I must tell you just who and what I have become. Recently, while in Andorra the Lord taught me an incredible amount about relationships with men and with God. He drew me to Him, even though I did not deserve to be drawn in, even though I did not change [View Full Entry]

1 Peter 3:10-12 10. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: 11. Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. 12. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 1 Peter 4:1-7 1. Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath [View Full Entry]

Meet the Taylors.. Europe » Ireland
First off I will say it again that Ireland really is a beautiful country. After embarking on our 3 hour bus trip from Dublin we arrived in Waterford to spend a few days with the Taylors (Keith's family). And what a top family they are!! Mam & Dad (Agnes & Joe), Nial, Clifford, Anthony & Suzie, oh and Karl (not technically family but close enough) made sure we had an awesome time and I think we have come back 5 kilos heavier from all the food. We had such a great time and you couldn't meet a nicer family. Well being [View Full Entry]

Well, getting here was maybe the most tiring experience of my life, but after 12 hours on 3 different airplanes with 6 and a half total hours of layover, losing 6 hours in the process, three hours of sleep, four hours on a bus sitting next to a wasted Polish guy, dragging 70lbs of luggage two blocks to get a taxi and then up a staircase, i FINALLY made it, fairly unharmed from the process. When I touched down in Dublin airport, it was beautifully sunny. It was really incredible and really green. Like neon, practically. The grass here is [View Full Entry]

After a bloody appaling flight from Edinburgh (I really just don't want to talk about it), we landed in Dublin and started the Irish leg of our journey. The second day of our sojourn in Dublin (the first was a huge sleep) was very eventful. After a big Irish breakfast, Jacki and I decided to hit the Guinness Storehouse at St James' Gate. The storehouse itself was really cool and we spent hours in there, culminating in our visit to the training bar, where you get to pour your own pint of Guinness. I went first, and after pouring a really [View Full Entry]

Oh so MUCH to say my dears!!! How was your Christmas and New Year? Did you have a wonderful time with family and just happy moments? Oh you will be so overjoyed to hear that I was blessed with a digital camera from my brothers...Praise the Lord and THANK you Randy and Sean!! hehe, now my photo albums will just expand to something crazy huge. Christmas in New York was: Horrid. yes. Unfortunately, my grandma is not too happy with my decision of living in Ireland, not going to school, and not having the best paying job in America.... On Christmas day we went to my auntie Bernie's for dinner. Granny Murphy was there too. We stuffed ourselves silly, pulled crackers, read the silly jokes, played games and watched the soaps on tv whilst toasting by the fire. Today, Stephen's Day, Larry's (uncle) came up to our house for another Christmas dinner! And it was all repeated again! [View Full Entry]

Me!

I spent the last two days in Galway and Limerick visiting my Irish friends Eoin and John who are two of my best friends from San Francisco and were home for the holidays. We decided to meet in Galway because all of their friends from Nortel in Galway were meeting up for a night out. We met up with a bunch of their friends who I had met one way or another when they had visited San Francisco. It was fun to see all of them again. The night ended up being really great. We visited a few different bars and [View Full Entry]

Hey yahhhhh back in the lovely bums of Ireland...hehe actually there are no bums here except for me! Galway has been so lovely, I have been here oh so long ago and now am finally back for a wee visit so yayhhooooO!!!! Well, there is one thing I have noticed about the people in Dublin and Galway, amidst the Christmas hustle and bustle ... You know how you are supposed to keep an imaginary two cars in front of you while driving, so you don't get too close to the actual car in front of you???? Well, since many people in [View Full Entry]
