Well… last time I talked to ya I was in Galway still. I kinda went to sleep for 2 days in attempt to cure whatever was going on with my stomach and rest up. I was surely tired from the week on the island. By Tuesday my clothes were clean and I was up and running. Tuesday night Denise and I had a bit of fun. Met some really nice people from Cliften and hung out with them too…
Wednesday I was to make my way to Westport. I was runnin’ a bit late and by the time I hopped in the cab, I only had 25 minutes to make it to the hospital to drop the keys off to Denise and then to the bus. John, taxi driver, knew I wouldn’t make my bus and offered to deliver the keys for me! How freakin’ sweet. When he called to let me know all was well he said “The eagle has landed”… I nearly died laughing. It was so funny. Anyway… THAT right there is just one small reason I love this country so much.
I got to wesport that afternoon and Elaine collected and fed me (uh…
amazing soup!)… We went to the Grada gig that night in Westport. Now, I have seen them play so many times, but something about being in that little amazing pub (Matt Malloy’s), the great people around, the amazing sound guy Colin (from Grange… met him at Alan Jordan’s show last summer… seriously the best sound engineer ever), the energy… everything… it was the best I have ever seen them! They were just right on the whole time and havin’ a blast of course. But afterwards was also amazing… we all stayed in the pub until 6 in the morning with about 15 other people including Mrs. Malloy and family … it was so fun. We sang, danced, laughed and it couldn’t have been more of an amazing night. The pictures and video came out great, but I’m not sure if it gives an accurate portrayal of the best time I’ve had in a LONG time! In any case, I’m sure you will enjoy them.
Thursday morning was rough… all the way into the afternoon actually… just kinda slept the day away and was supposed to make it to Clare island, but didn’t!
Ah, it’s ok… by evening Elaine and I had mustered up enough energy to make it to Iniscrone… we arrived to a cute little pub and there were the cutest 4 men playing a session. Elaine sang a bit and I sat in and played some tunes. Everyone was REALLY The people were just adorable… mostly older men. Elaine’s uncle is so cute! His house is absolutely amazing. All wood and near the beach… uh… so cool. Nick will make his way to westport this afternoon and we’ll all go out tonight here and make our way to milltown tomorrow! As Mark says… the winds are comin’ so it’s lookin’ to be a Wild Wild Willy Week!!!!
Talk to ya’ll soon!
Smiles.
pS... a sickening fact obtained from one of my obsessivly vegetarian friends (Sar... love ya don't worry!)... oh gross... I guess I'm not vegetarian really. This is from The Consumer Representative from Guinness Corp.
In reference to your inquiry, isinglass, a fish product, is used during the
clarification process as a magnet to get rid of excess yeast. To the strict
Vegan, this would be an animal product and unsuitable. I hope this helps.
Once again, thank you for contacting us. (oh and there are 4 pages of pictures below!)
