Alrighty... so on thursday I got on the train and headed to Portlaoise. The world Fleadh was on there and Lunasa was the opening act on Thursday night. I made it in in a frenzy JUST before the doors were about to shut. The show was beautiful and we went out afterwards and EVERYONE was there. It was a blast, but I was not in good form. Definitely completely worn out and exhausted. The plan was to return back to Galway with Elaine and sleep it off for the day... then returning back the following day to Portlaoise (pronounced Port-Leesh by the way). But the Fitzharriss' took me right in and minded me... put me in their caravan to sleep. The following night I didn't go in... stayed back and watched Ciara (Barry & Una's daughter) so that they could both go out for the night. It was so RELAXING. I was able to skype with a few people, catch up on bills (ugh the student loans DID get paid this month!) and just get things in order. I had to re-do my resume so that's done. It was so wonderful to be relaxed and comfortable. I ended up (luckily) staying
in their caravan for the rest of the weekend. They were so amazing to have me there, but I don't think I could have finished out the festival otherwise. I couldn't have stayed out until the wee hours of the morning and gone mad... granted... we certainly were out late, but I always had a quiet, comfy place to return to.
I can't thank Tom & Judy enough! I'm so grateful.
Saw some amazing music... Grada, Lunasa, Begley & Murray, Teada... and gazillions of beautiful sesisons!
Monday Aidan was able to come up and join us and that was wonderful... Tuesday we headed back to Galway via train and bus, went out for a nice dinner (thank goodness, was lacking veggies) and just relaxed. It was just what I / we needed. He returned back to Kilrush yesterday and I went to bed! yay!
Laundry is clean and hanging, stuff is reorganized and I'm feelin' better. I am NOT headed to Feakle as planned... yet. I will decide and maybe go sunday. two more festivals!
hope all of you are well... leave comments below if you would like... or pop and email... or have a
skype because I have wireless for a few days!
smiles, Jess
