The Castle and IThe Castle and I
The Castle and I

The King and his castle!
FRIDAY 10 / 3 / - Blarney

Due to my exhaustion off waking up early and getting to sleep late with a bit off CIDER in the belly the previous day it was a horrible 10.30am wake up for me... missing the complimentry breakfast and being the only person left in the bedroom sleeping! Oh my I've missed out on a whole 1.5hours off sight seeing.

After a quick shower and slick off the hair I packed my bag and set off into the town centre again. I went to a sandwhich bar and ended up having an egg something. It was Irish. Whilst I was there I met another Australian who was living/working in Cork. She said her friends band where playing at a club later on and that she would call me later. Score... something to do tonight!

Headed out to the bus station, bought an unlimited 6 day bus pass and caught the bus out 45minutes to a small town called Blarney. Dont ask how to pronounce it... it's always changing. I was in Blarney to see the Blarney Castle and its surroundings. STOP PRESS. The weather today is absolutely beatiful, the mercury hit a

toasty 11 degrees, oh the warmth! This is jeans and jumper weather! The castle grounds in there self are so so cool. Its all very old and have been preserved very well. You could walk through out the castle, check out the dungeans and caves plus there was a few landmarks around the area that where within walking distance. On top off the Castle is the 'Blarney Stone' which is a huge tourist attraction. The myth says that those who kiss it get the gift off the gab. I wanted to make out with this rock. When I finally DID get to the top off the castle I was expecting a big boulder in the middle with everyone putting there chops on it. Instead there was a big hole on the side off the castle with a stone hanging off the edge. According to the guide I had to lean off the castle and give it a smooch. Its a bit hard to explain... you try work it out in the picture. After licking the precious 'stone' I did the climb back down the castle... a quick conversation with a canadian led me to finding out that they clean the stone twice a day as some people enjoy urinating on it. Excellent. I was thirsty anyway. Assholes.

After a quick 'treat'.. a white chocolate ice-cream, the canadian dood and I headed back into Cork. After seeing some sights together we went out seperate ways as I spent my last evening in Cork. For dinner I headed down to Tescos and grabbed a 'Curry with Rice' all in 1 microwave meal! The Koreans asked me why I had bought dog food, they where sitting there with there fresh vegetables. After my exquisite dinner I went for a night walk, there was so much irish music and street performers, I could have sat there all night! When I got back to the hostel the Koreans had bought some drinks and we sat around talking about all lifes thrills and spills till the wee hours off the morning. When we returned to our bedroom OUR BEDS HAD BEEN MOVED. All off our stuff had been moved to the top bunk. A german man said some American girls had been in. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Actually we found it humerous.

Another late night... another exhausting day... I need something healthy to eat :S.
