After a good night’s sleep in Westport, and a hearty Irish breakfast, minus the black and white pudding (been there, tried that) we managed to lose KB and Ryan on the first turn out of our B and B!

In hindsight, we should have told them which way we would be turning, but as Kristelle waited at the top of the hill, we made our way to the bottom, realised our mistake, and backtracked, only to find they had already left. We did another quick sweep back into town, but gave up, and decided to head to Galway and meet there…at least that was the plan! We arrived in Galway at midday and commenced the search for the tourist information center - hopefully to meet up with KB and Ryan and to book the nights accommodation in Kilarney.

The sign posting at Galway was shocking without any signage for the information center. The Sat Nav also failed to list the information center so we had to revert to the good old stop and ask technique. We finally found it and settled in to wait for the other travelling team. As we had plenty of time on our hands, and Chelle being Chelle, we managed to book the rest of the B&B’s for the Ireland tour. KB and Co. were still missing in action. The next option was to call KB’s mobile from the public phone. Surprisingly we managed to get through (Chelles mobile wouldn’t work) and we indicated that we would wait at the tourist center.

It turned out that KB and Ryan had just as much trouble as us with trying to find the tourist info center. We called again (it must have been 20cents every couple of seconds) and indicated that we would meet just south of Galway at Clarinbridge. Understandably our rushed - and cut short conversation was misinterpreted and the KB thought we were waiting at Clarinbridge. To cut a long story short we after driving for 20mins we arrived at Cl and waited for 30mins before heading to our next stop at the Cliffs of Moher. We though we wouldn’t see KB or Ryan till Dublin, but we were wrong.

As we pulled into the car park at the Cliffs of Moher, KB and Ryan were exiting the park. After a loud whistle and a frantic wave we caught their attention. We decided to head off on different routes and to meet up in Dublin as Michelle and I have to return our hire car a day earlier. The Cliffs were another natural wonder well worth the stop (Chelle wasn’t as impressed, simular to the cliffs along the Great Ocean Road).

We had originally planned on spending a night in Limerick. This was changed when we realised we would need to stop closer to doublin. TO shorten the route to Kilarney we took the Ferry from Killmare?? to Tarne?? Not quite as impressive as the Stranra ferry but it did cut our trip by about an hour. We arrived at Kilarney and booked into the B&B.

Walked to town and checked out some of the shops. On the way back we stopped at a pub and listened to some traditional Irish music. The three man band comprised of a fiddler, bango player and a guitar player. Chelle bought a CD and we headed home.
