So i arrived to Cork on July 9th, a few weeks ago. The weather was no surprise...raining. I spent a few weeks just going for walks alone as Dave was working. He is offically "Retired" since July 27th as we say!
Ronan is Daves friend that we are staying with here in Cork for a few weeks. They are still in training for the triathelon, so I had even more time to myself as I have no intentions of putting on a wetsuit and swimming in the sea, or cycline gor 40 miles!!
The "King of the Hill" Traithelon was in Kinsale, and Ronan and Dave both finished the race. Ronan finished in 1hr 36 min and Dave wasnt too far behind finishing in 1hr 41 min. It was their first triathelon and all of their family showed up to support them and we were all proud of them.
We spent last weekend in Kerry where Ronan's parents have a "holiday" home.
there were beautiful mountains, water everywhere and SHEEP in the road!!! I was so happy to see the sheep.
We got to see the ruin of "Wynne's Folly", a castle mansion built by Lord Headley Wynne in 1867.
That
was right up the road from where we were staying.
Ronans "mum" made dinner every night and we sat around taking and enjoying some drinks, it was very relaxing.
Then we saw Crag Cave in Castle island which is a million years old and Ross Castle which is in Killarney. It was "pissing rain" as the Irish people say, so Dave and I only took a few pictures outside the castle and got back in the car. There was a tour inside this castle but we decided to forget that.
Now we are waiting for the weekend of Aug 7th to come and we will travel around Scottland.
In the mean time, I an enjoying the beautiful country of Ireland!!
