So yesterday was very interesting....I went around Dublin and saw the book of Kells at Trinity college. The campus is very beautiful. The book of Kells was amazing! For those who aren't familiar, the book consists of the four gospels in picture form. These very well protected books were created by Irish monks....they are full of detail .....and truly ornate.
I also had the pleasure of warding off a pick-pocket! I just happened to look down as he was reaching for my pocket, and he pulled his arm back immediately. He then rushed off, and I tried to follow him but he escaped through the crowd of people. Apparently cowards hang out at busy intersections looking for tourists to take a quick picture. For those of you who are also in Dublin currently, he was at the corner of O'Connell street near the Liffey River.

I then had lunch at a restaurant/nightclub called " The Church." This was for centuries a church of which very famous Irish people are associated. James Joyce was actually married at the church! It was pretty weird to drink Guinness and eat some fish and chips here. I then made my way to a Leprechaun museum that was really geared towards kids. So on the tour there were parents, and a bunch of kids.... Then me. Kind of akward.
After the tour I went to dinner at the famous Arlington hotel, and watched some live music followed by Riverdance. The music was great, and the dancing very impressive. I was half tempted to jump up there and show them how a white boy from the states can move.

I then went to a popular bar and had too many shots of Jameson with some Marines and Spanish girls. Good times were had by all.... And needeless to say I woke up late today. I'm actually still nursing a hangover.

Pics and video will be added soon, probably in the morning before I leave the city. Overall, things have been great, the people are incredibly hospitable! Heading to dinner now, hope all is well!

I decided this would be a great opportunity to share my thoughts and experiences with others....but mainly to update frequently so my mom knows I'm still alive. I'm very excited to travel to Ireland, and can't wait to see where opportunity takes me.... full info
