ENTERING COBH HARBOURENTERING COBH HARBOURENTERING COBH HARBOUR

A chilly morning
Docked in Cobh (Cove) Ireland, this morning early, a bit on the chilly side but as the day progressed warmed up very nicely, top of 25, 26. We have been so lucky with the weather, the locals said it was the hottest summer day they have had for years!!! Met by Mike from Paddy Wagon Tours and taken direct to Blarney Castle before everyone arrived first up the castle and had a great view over the estate, NO did not kiss theBlarney Stone, YUK! Then had a walk around Blarney, went to the Woollen Mills and then drove onto Kinsale which is a pretty little harbour town en route went through some beautiful farming country, (very, very green and lush) had the most yummy seafood chowder in the pub and a pint of Murphy's (Muz, it was the best!!) mainly dairy farms - then back to Cork or a look around for an hour saw Finbarrs Cathedral and then back to Cobh - wow! what an afternoon - the town had declared it as "Australia Day" as there were over 1300 Aussies on board and because of the connection of hundreds of women and children being sent from Cobh to Australia

Gorgeous houses line the hills
-they made the biggest song and dance we have seen - it was so emotional, playing all aussie songs - the whole town turned out to greet and farewell us - flags waving - chanting Aussie, Aussie, Aussie !!! I reckon 1/2 of the town turned out to farewell our ship - the people were very, very friendly - just awesome!!!
