Shockingly enough we left on time today. We travel about an hour and a half to the first sight, which was a fort. This fort was used to not only watch over the land to make sure no one was coming for attack, but also to watch over the herds. Pretty basic fort.
We then went to look at Dolmens, which are types of graves that were first seen around 500 B.C. Dolmens are made from three upright stones with a flat capstone balanced on top. Usually more than one person was buried in them. The larger of the two we saw today was thought to have had 28 people buried in it, half a dozen of them children. It is not know if these burials were used just for royalty, but it is thought so because it was not uncommon for people to dig up the bones of family member and move them to other Dolmens closer to where they were moving to. A lot is still unknown about Dolmens.
We then took a lunch break at a Pub (I had the Vegetarian Lasagna). After lunch we went to the Cliffs of Moher. I have to admit they
are pretty cool to look at, but they would have been more thrilling if you actually got to look over the edge of them, but I understand the dangers behind that. There was no real educational purpose to this stop, but more of just the chance to look at them and experience them. This is where the lady was picked up by the wind and pushed over the edge to her death. I suppose there are less beautiful places to die.
After that we headed back to Coribb Village, which was a good hour and forty-five minute ride back (most everyone slept.) Once we got back I started on my homework because we had a good 50 pages to read for tomorrow’s class. I did take a break to go to the grocery store with Danielle. I do have to say the plan was to go to save time from walking all the way “downtown” for dinner, but the trip didn’t turn out as well as planned. Once we finally found a store we walked around looking for something Kosher for Danielle and didn’t find anything. So then we had to decide if we find something for dinner or
if we just got to a restaurant. Well since we both had a lot of reading left to do we decided to split a box of fish sticks for dinner. So we got fish sticks, yogurt and apples. Then we stood in line for what seemed like 20 min, while the lady in between us and the cashier gave us weird looks because we were unsure of some of the customs (i.e. - there were no bags to put our stuff in). Then on the walk back we decided it probably would have just been faster to go out to eat, but the grocery store was cheaper.
I do have to admit I have only been here three days and I have already decided that I like Ireland, but if I had the trip to do again I would change a few things. 1) I think I would either come with my brother or Ben. I think either of these people would be the best for traveling around in Ireland. (Just a thought.) 2) It is fun to travel around to see and learn about all the places, but it is difficult fitting everything in like travel, school work,
meals, keeping in contact with everyone back home, downloading pictures/lectures. It is almost too much to really have any time to really get to experience the culture and the people. 3) I probably would have listened to my mother and bought a wind jacket to bring on the trip. Oh well, live and learn. These are just a few things that I would do differently if I were to ever make the trip again. Keep in mind this is only after three days.
I will also admit that this trip has also helped me realize even more why I should have been born male. That I am going to leave open ended, interpret however you want. Well it is now 12:30 AM here and by the time I am done with getting this blog up it will probably be after 1:00 AM. Not too much today just a lot of travel, most of which was really just riding on a bus.
Tomorrow:
9:30 AM - Class in the classroom from there we’ll just have to wait and see.

The last 2 pictures of the Cliffs did not come thru for me and for whatever reason I could not get them to enlarge tonight. I didn't have trouble with that last night or on Sunday.
What I can see I really like. I especially appreciate your journal. I am so glad you are doing this but please remember that you need to enjoy the moment and if that means not updating the journal everyday so be it. Just don't put that pressure on yourself.
Love,
Mom

Thank You for the honerable mention! Those pictures are breath taking! I am so sorry that I wasn't able to make comments on the other ones. I haven't had to to check mail in a while. I hope you are having a great time! and I miss you!!!!
This is so great to read your blog. I feel like we are right back there! The cliffs just make me shiver! The gray skies look just as cold as they were in April and yes that wind jacket would have been great!! I didn't have one either!! Sure hope that you throughly enjoy each day. I do hope that you get to head south of Galeway since that was my favorite area--especially the cities of Kilkenny and Kinsale! Be safe. Love and blessings!
I see no updates about my lightning-bolt shooting squirrel. How disappointing. Also, I'm not sure why you would want to travel to Ireland with me. All I would do is get us kicked out of the country for imitating their accents...horribly, then getting drunk off Guiness and passing out on top of Stonehenge while singing Johnny Cash.
I'm so jealous. I'm loving all the pictures. It looks like you're having an amazing time and sounds like you have nearly no time off! I hope all is well!
