Hey all! Ok... so got a little behind on blogs and picts, but am catching up now so!
After Drumbshambo I hitched my way back to galway. Oh what a great day this was.
First, I was in a car with a guy called Tom who was the nicest nicest nicest father of 3... he was headed up to Donegal to spend the weekend with his wife and family who were already there. He was so great! He dropped me just a little ways out of Tubbercurry where I caught another lift from two really nice men who were headed to Westport to climb the mountain pilgrimage thingy... They were great and when I got to Tubbercurry, I walked into a shop to barry a marker and a brown bag to write on. I made a sign that said "Galway" and added a few smiley faces.
I headed out to the road and I can't even tell you how many people stopped! It was awesome. They were just offering partial lifts and then the most awesome couple from England stopped... well, wait, they live in England, but she is an Aussi. John and Jenny were their names. They were sweet, like-minded
people who just were awesome. We talked the entire way back to galway! Turns out John's neice runs a program in which they take 10 people at a time to Tuscany to help them paint. I have already made contact with them to see if they might need another tudor. They have written back and so I have that ball rolling. How fun would that be!
Made contact with the Teresa at the organic farm in the north and looks as if i will head there the second week in september to work for a bit.
Ok... so arrived back to Galway just exhausted and did laundry and repacked. Aidan arrived Sunday for the Lunasa gig and we had a wonderful evening prior in Galway. Elaine met us at the gig (not too late might I add!) and that was just fun. Went out a bit afterwards and then Monday headed to Kilrush for a few days. Monday night Aidan spent the entire night teaching me tricks of his trade... I pulled my first pint and loved every minute of it. Would definitely like to do some bar work at some point! It was a blast... he's a
fantastic teacher and I swear I'm not biased.
Had a wonderful few days in Kilrush... got to know a few of his friends better and just enjoyed the bit of sunshine that we had. Thursday Polo was kind enough to bring me to Limerick to catch the train to Portlaoise... and the story will continue...
