Wild and Wooly Willy Week! (Thanks Mark for the title!)

Well Well Well... could I even begin to explain?
Probably not, but I'll give it a shot!

First... these are all the picture. I WILL be getting some awesome little video clips up, but I need to get to a different computer. So, they will be coming... In the mean time... enjoy the pictures!

We had a blast in westport last Friday night... Nick played in Matt Malloy's with Conner (Monto) and Fabien. It was wonderful and a late, but quiet night!

Nick and I hitched out of Milltown with a funny guy named John... nice experience! We made it to Galway, enjoyed the day there and then got on the bus to Milltown where Nick played a tune... that was surely fun... We got to Milltown Malbay (MM) and got settled into our B&B. Cumfy and thanks to Patricia!

The week started then... I don't think I can break days down for ya, but basically the events consisted of this... hoping from pub to pub in search of those special session (mind you, there were session in every pub so, didn't matter much!), enjoying that wonderful guinness and bulmers, meeting loads of new people, going to the beach to swim, laugh, play, sleep, heading out of town to those fun places where the sessions are magical, seeing old friends from last year, eating at the Bakehouse... repeatedly... sleeping in wet tents, watching the sun rise... ah it was just a blast!

Oh right and during all this... I, somehow, managed to get to class EVERY day for three house with the beautiful, amazing Mary Bergin. I learned so so so much from her this week. So much so that I decided not to take classes in Tubbercurry this week so that I can process and apply all I learned from her to my old tunes and add a few new ones. I never looked at music once this week and did everything by ear. Have 4 new tunes. 2 up to pace and two not, but I'll have them by the end of the week! They are wonderful ones. I just LOVED MM.

New friends include Suzie (and Subo of course), Paul (Scotland), Paul (friend of other Paul's!), Darrah, Conor, Barry, Grainne, Miriam, Ned and there are probably a good 10 I am forgetting!

What a blast.

Ok... the plan... rest time for me. I am in Doolin and I will see some great tunes tonight. I have to get into a normal sized town tomorrow so I'll hitch there and back and probably stay in Doolin one more night. I want to go pitch somewhere... not sure if I will go to Inis Oirr or Clare Island... Then I'll make my way to Drumshambo by Saturday where we will have another wild and crazy week!!!!

Nick... ya leave tomorrow... you will be missed. Play that 3 hours a day and when you have a "moment"... think of Elaine and her calming and then think of the beach and the air and whatever you need to think of to REMEMBER!!!! And for Pete's sake save your pennies for next summer!
