Main Course...Lobster Tails!Grilladir Humarhalar Med Hvilauk Og Salati (aka Grilled Icelandic Lobster Tails with Garlic and Salad). The small portion was 8 tails! Although nothing the size of Maine Lobster, 8 is a lot to eat.
We made it to Reyjavik, the city that literally never sleeps! The sun supposedly sets here around 11 pm, however it never really sets. The sky remains a dark, hazy blue and then the sun rises again around 3 am. So your body never really knows what time it is...this makes the nightlife - rather the time that should be night - infinite...but fun!
Dinner last night was quite interesting and expensive! We had some of the island´s specialties. We ate part of Moby Dick...raw! It was like tuna tutaki except not as good and was dark meat. Gayle ate the mother of the horse she´s going to ride today...horse carpaccio....she claims though it was only his great aunt. We all had to try a bite but the rest of us felt a little guilty about it! We dined on Icelandic lobster...in America it would be a baby lobster! They are quite small but tasty...it took about 5 each to fill us up and we still had room at the end of the night...or rather 2 am...to eat hot dogs and donnor kebabs!
Best part so far - other than the night life - was bathing half naked in
Kelly's AppetizerSvertur Lax Med Hvitlauk Og Eldpiparmauki (aka Blackened Salmon), which was quite tasty!
30 degree weather in Iceland...of course the water was probably around 104 degrees! Blue Lagoon was everything we had hoped for...let´s just hope that Gayle´s hair recovers...the geothermally heated waste water tends to dry the skin and hair. But it´s worth it. We´re off to ride the distant cousins of the horse we all tasted last night. More to come later...

Watch out Seabiscuit!Gayle ordered Hestapynnur Med Gaesalifrar-brulee Og Sveppa-Braudteningum (aka Horsemeat Carpaccio with Foie Gras Brulee and Mushroom Croutons)as her appetizer.
The other dark meat...Mary Beth's Hrar Hvalur Tataki Med Shitake-Sveppum Og Wasabi-Geu (aka Raw Whale Tataki with Shitake Mushrooms and Wasabi Gel) might have been better if prepared more like a steak and not Tuna Tataki!
