Greetings Everyone!
Hope this message finds you well!!! We have finally found an internet site in a library where we can upload pictures!!!! Our adventure has been a wonderful one, to say the least, though we must admit it has been a difficult trek (physically and mentally)... but extrememly rewarding to this point. We have dared to try a variety of food at one buffet so far, in Ilulissat, that consisted of whale, whale skin (gross), reindeer, muskox (timīs favorite), and a bunch of other meats and seafood. We hope you enjoy the pictures! We are getting on a ferry in 2 hours to visit the Vestmann Islands (Home of the Puffin Penguin!). Our apologies for not having the rest of our pictures up, but we hope to have them finished soon.
Lots of Love,
Tim and Kat (AKA = TkVernes)
-Just to note, the pictures of Reykjavik, Icelandīs capital, in the beginning is the only city we went to before heading to Greenland for a week. The pics of the rest of Iceland will be in the next blog we can get up.
Hereīs the progress of our trip in these pics: Reykjavik, Iceland (the
worldīs most northerly capital) - Kulusuk, Greenland (population 300) - Nuuk, Greenland (Greenlandīs capital) - Ilulissat, Greenland (home of Ilulissat Kangerlua, the largest icecap glacier outside of Antarctica)
Sigur Ross!!!...well, a childhood friend of the bandmembers...but close enough.
Dinner...the food over here is EXTREMELY expensive. 2 Reasons: 1) They have to export almost everthing because they are so isolated 2) The American dollar is not doing so well.
