Day 6 – Today we slept in a little bit and then chatted again with the Swiss family at breakfast. We packed up the car and headed out on our way to Akureyri, the biggest town outside of Reykjavik. As we were leaving, we saw another couple load their car with a bag specifically from a store near our home in Basel. Very weird. At the gas station we bought two of our favorite cookies, that we had discovered there the night before. Yum. We started the trip with a stop at Dettifoss waterfall, and I think this was our first waterfall without rain. We drove an hour or so to Akureyri, checked in to the hotel and walked around town. Not a great day, but not too bad. No rain, anyway. We ended up walking over to a mall of sorts, where we found several shops to peruse. Then we went home and made dinner and then went out to see a movie. Rock of Ages. I was hoping to like it, and Jeroen was pretty sure he wouldn't, but we both ended up really enjoying it. What a fun movie. I do like cheesy musicals anyway, and this had 80s music and fun characters. It was great. I loved it. 😊
