Called the butterfly island.Very autentinc no tourism at all. Hot, no wind. very desertic 3 villages and 2 taxis in the entire island. Very friendly though. The owner of the Internet Cafe in the main cafe offered to take the boss around. Well to see Greece approach put a huge smile on Karl's face, Greece is his love, having spent so much time here. We were a woken by a knock on the door at seven, as the boat was to dock at eight. We changed, a couple of chocolate croissants coiffed down in the cabin and Karl left for the car loaded up with our stuff. Mike, the owner of Ios Resort was waiting at the port to pick us up and gave us a quick tour of the main strip before taking us to the hotel. It's 2.5km from the port to the town and then 2.5km from the town to the beach, all on the same road. The hotel itself was only a 5 minute walk from town which is another one of those Greek island towns that sits on the side of a steep hill. Yassas! (Hello) Well the Summer Holiday I had been waiting months for is all over so if you have time i'll tell you a bit about it! Actually I should warn you, it's not a bit, it's alot, so grab a drink and take a seat if you're interested! Our trip started on Friday the 11th of July with the ten of us catching the Gatwick Express (1/2 hour) from Victoria Station to Gatwick Airport. Once inside Thira Island the approach of Santorini was breathtaking. I have never seen anything like this before in my life...tand I would love to get back. The villa is in the top of the hill. There are public skycars, steps or dunkey rides to get to the top. Gina and I raced each other to the top. About a 30 minute good hike. Incredible view. Very touristic and expensive but I could spend an entire week taking pictures, drawing and reading from any of the terraces. Unfortunately we didn't stay long and continued our journey... Tag 24 bis 32, 6.100 km von Galway Hello aus Alexandroupoli in Griechenland. Wir haben es erst einmal 5 Tage ganz ruhig angehen lassen und uns von Bulgarien direkt auf die Halbinsel Sithonia in Chalkidiki verduennisiert, um uns in der Sonne zu waelzen. Bei ueber 30 Grad im Schatten waere alles andere auch Mofafahrerquaelerei gewesen. Wir waren auf einem netten Zelti, der unter Olivenbaeumen direkt am Strand lag. Abends oder vormittags haben wir dann kurze Abstecher ins Hinterland der Halbinsel oder in die naechste Ortschaft gemacht. Das Essen ist in Griechenland wirklich sehr lecker [View Full Entry]
