Today we woke up at a reasonable hour and our lovely man made us breakie at 9am with amazing freshly squeezed orange juice! I stayed back at the hotel initially cos I had to skype home and sort clothes to be sent over to London now that i was going to be going back so much sooner! El and Andy went to the Archeological museum of Olympia and spent a few hours walking arund that. it was all about the history of the place - not just the olympics.
I then joined them and we walked for about 45 mins in extreme heat to try and find the statue of the guy who originated the first modern olympics but we couldn't find it so gave up and went and found some lunch. We were pretty much celebrities in the town by this stage as our hotel man had told all his friends about us and the town was so tiny so walking down pretty much the only street in olympia we had ppl waving out and yelling out to us, giving us discounts left right and centre! It was fantastic!
After lunch we went to the Olympics museum which

the rules and regulations fro the first olympics was the original museum. there was a modern one but they shut it down about 3 years ago cos they werent paying their staff enough. Which was such a shame cos El and I were so excited about this one! But the other one was still pretty cool.
Then we headed to the archeological site of olympia which was the sight wherethe first olympics took place and all the ruins were still there. It was very cool And horrible to see the state of sme of them but then impressive to see how well some of the areas had stayed so well preserved. We got some pretty cool photos!
That night we had a nice dinner at a very cool lil restaurant and I had the most amazing freddochinno!!! So so good! Early night after a few Ouzo shots frm our hotel guy as we had to be on the 6.30am bus back to Athens the next day!
