Hello again!
We arrived in Mykonos in the morning and sailed across in a tender to get to the Port of Mykonos - too many other ships around and not enough berths.
After looking up some of the shops - some well known designer shops in some streets and all types of sales on.. could be dangerous so we stopped for an early lunch at a little place in town - we had a traditional Greek Yiros - oh yum...!!! and while we were sitting there another Australian couple came and sat next to us with a yiros too, they'd seen ours and decided they wanted one too. Interesting couple who had been travelling around Europe by train for the past 7 weeks - they regaled us with their stories of train travelling and places they had been... Not sure that doing it by train would be something we would want to do..
We went for a walk and then saw some quad bikes available for rent.. we were actually heading towards some tourist buses to see what they had to offer... now everyone knows how much I dislike motorbikes.... well we hired a quad bike - and
off we went - it was fantastic - we loved it - we had such a great time on it and toured around Mykonos and down to Paradise Beach. Funny we met a man there wearing a Glenelg Golf Club hat. First thing we asked was if he knew friends of ours who played there and of course he did! He also played at West Adelaide with our friend - Bobby Loveday and knows him very well - said Bobby was a nice guy but we all know that.
We returned on the bike to the main area of Mykonos and went to meet Ann & Mary and others at a restaurant at an area called Little Venice... quite a few restaurants along the foreshore there and we'd forgotten which one we were supposed to be at but ran into other friends so had drinks and nibbles with them instead. While chatting away the sunset was happening and some fantastic photos were being taken..... but not by us..
John offered a friend a ride on the quad bike to take it back but the damn thing was out of petrol... so John had to walk back up to
tell the guy it didn't have any petrol in it so had to bring some back so he could drive it back to its home.
Back on the ship and drinks and dinner with the troops before heading back to our cabin. When we got back to our cabin we had a towels made into swans facing each other to replicate a love heart, rose petals and a plate of chocolates - also a card saying the Staff and Crew wish you both a very happy honeymoon!! How nice of them.
Since we'd been up early that morning we headed off to bed as we had an early start to Kusadasi (Ephesus) the next day.
Bye for now. xx
