After being escorted to the port in Athens by a couple of super nice (non Enlgish at all speaking) Bulgarian's that took us all the way there, we got on a VERY long and overnight boat ride to Mykonos. It really wasn't as bad as it seems because we curled up in our cozy sleeping bags on the deck and slept most of the way there.
We did end up arriving at 4 am however and contrary to BC ferry's, these bad boys dock for a second shew you out and take off along with everyone (aka taxi's/buses) else at the port. So having just woke up and being very tired we were a little confused and therefore ended up stranded at the Navy Yard where there were 8 different ships. Kinda cool, except for the fact that we just wanted to go to bed.
Luckily, Mr George from Athens was able to hook us up and our hotel was right near the port and the ppl were waiting for us. Love Mr. Gerge.
The next morning we woke to a beautiful view, home made breakfast and a wonderful pool/garden right outside our doorstep! For a bunch of broke kids used to hosteling it, it wasn't too shabby!
Loved Mykonos! It was the part of Greece I was ancious to see and the people were friendly and it was just all together beautiful. The first time I saw a beach with a club and a bar on it was right here too, which lead to yet another wild night including free drinks for Che, Ali and Erin. Ali met Joe and Che met the end of her blue drink career.
Two nights in Mykonos was enough for us however so we meanered onto greek ferry number 2.
Things Erin Learned on Mykonos:
1. That peach nector is really apricot and that I do not speak Greek
2. blue drinks are just pretty, they are not good, nor are they good for you
3. You do not have to see Borrat to continuously quote it
