We were tired when we arrived in Kos at 4am but there were no touts waiting to offer us a cheap room so we decided to just wait for the next ferry to Leros and sleep when we get there!
Kos is the second largest of the Dodecanese having fertile land and renowned for producing the kos lettuce. It is also famous as the birthplace of Hippocrates.
Luckily the harbour cafe was open where we could sit in relative comfort and have a warm drink. We sat and read until 7am, and when we saw someone else store their luggage we decided to do the same so we could spend the remaining time exploring the town. Surprisingly, this was quite enough time for a thorough look and long walk around the town and Rags was complaining of weary legs before Judy would allow him to return to the cafe to await our boat which left at 11am.
