Dianna getting her fill of a gyro in the best gyro restaurant, downtown Plaka, Athens
It is Friday and I am back, but not for long, because we 3 are off again to the island of Evia, Nick and Arlene's summer home for the weekend. We got in late, but the port street was absolutely full of people eating and having coffee and ice cream and drinks. The next day we drove to the other side of the island at a narrow point and went to a beautiful beautiful beech. Swam in some caves (I did not venture too far in). Wow. But we did have to drive through the fire area, where the Canadian water plane went down. Could not believe all the area that did burn. After this beautiful swim we went back to Styra to another night of walking along the port till 2 in the morning. On Sunday we returned back to Athens. When again in Athens, took evening rips to the port of Rafina for coffee. Did some shopping. Myrna will be here on Thursday. So we are planning more history downtown trips and a long 11 day trip to the 2 island of Kos and Rhodes. We leave on Aug 14 to return on Aug 27. It was very difficult to find accommodation and book the 9 hour ferry ride, but we got it set up. Should be fun. Otherwise we will do some local touring to Plaka, Accropoli, St George Church and some local sitseeing and to the local sea beeches. How Nice. Busy each day and loving it.

fantastic voyage
hi dianna, well it looks like you are having a fantastic time in greece, all the sites you have seen and being with your sister and family. I'm jealous..... I'm sure you'll have many more pictures to share with us when you return. For sure we will get together. In fact, I would like to put together another PPG reunion perhaps in early December. I will keep in touch. Ramon, Carmen and I saw each other in April. My co-worker is from Greece and he is also enjoying the pictures in your blog too - he has been back many times. See you soon. maureen
