Today we boarded an ICE train to travel to Heideleberg. Breakfast of muesli and blueberries at Dan's apartment set us up for our travels. The train was comfortable and fast, we managed to get off too early so got to walk the streets of another picturesque town before reboarding and finding our correct destination. We ate squashed red strawberries and homemade lemon and poppyseed cake at the station while waiting for the train. Like Göttingen, Heidelberg is a university town with an old city at it's heart. Bike riders are everywhere and the local trains and buses don't mind if you haul your bike on board with you! The most amazing thing here is the constant daylight and sunshine which does not fade until after 9pm! Temperatures are very warm even in the trains which are overheated.
