-Forenote:
Most of the entries were not actually put onto the computer on their proclaimed entry date. All that now follows was taken directly from my big brown leather journal and that is what I write in every day. So if suddenly four or five entries show up in one day all with different entry dates then that means that I had to to a bit of catching up with the computer.
I've got time to kill so i might as well start.
This is a journal of my year in Germany. I can imagine that many of you back home will be reading this upon my return* so I will make my accounts as detailed as possible. My handwriting, though, zou are just going to have to deal with. °

Currently, my where-abouts are Minneapolis Minnesota in the waiting area for gate C7. Joe and I are heading out on flight 1929 for Dulles International in Washington D.C. I'm still out of breath from running here. Why, you may ask? Well...Joe led us through security again. The flight from Grand Forks to Minneapolis went well. (There were no tears at teh gate.) We got off the plane and despite mz fervent efforts to convince him, Joe isisted that we were required to pick up our checked baggage and take it to our nexrt gate. So, we went out the great big glass dorrs. Neither Joe nor I knew which carousel was ours so we asked. The nice security man told us that our baggage had been taken care of. Meaning that, as I had told Joe previously, there was no need for us to caliam our luggage or move ti to the next plane. Needless to say I teased Joe about it for the next two hour flight to Minneapolis. Which we did make despite the fact athat we had to go through securitz for the second time that daz and walk the three mile stratch of airport to make it to gate C7. So evetthing turned out fine and we got to where we were supposed to be with plenty of time to spare.
-Later-
We arrived at Dulles International by 2:00. I met a lot of great kids in that small area between carousels 2 and 3. Currentlz there are 48 of us in this group. We are still expecting two more students. Nick and Annie are their names I believe. I met and spoke with very close to ALL of the others suring the three and a half hours we had to sit at Dulles. After the last of the 48 arrived we got on a charter bus to the Best Western Iwo Jima. There we ate dinner and then had a little group discussion. All of us sat in theconverence room where we introduced ourselves and did little worksheet things. That was through by 9:30 and bed check was at 10:30, which meant that we had an hour to kill. To remedz this about 20 students walked together to the .... Stay-way?....myself included. It was verz interesting to walk around Arlington for that little while. The citz is reallz quite different from What I'm used to. There are a lot more hills. There are also a lot more trees. Thebuildings are reallz tall and totop it all of the side-walks were absolutely treaturous! I almost tripped nearlz 8 times...but that also could have been because I was wearing flip-flops, wich I don't normallz do. WE are expecting a verz full daz tomorrow. Wake-up is at 6. Breakfast at 8:30. For this reason I should probablz go to bed soon. Also because i have three room-mates who Iäm sure would like to go to sleep as well.
-End note: Do I have any mistakes?...Well unless zou can't understand what I said then I don't want to hear about it. This entry was typed on a german keyboard. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the format: "Z" and "Y"....are switched. "?"....that is at the top. "Enter" and "Shift" are farther over than normal...they are also in German. So, I shall tell you right now that until i get used to this zou can just...
DEAL WITH IT!
