OUR HOSTS For Those Who Did Not Attend the 26th ISA In Midland, ON
Tuesday, April 22nd, Deutschland Here We Come!! The Cathedral of Cologne is our first stop.
And to meet us and guide us for this part of the Inaugural will be: (Sebastian speaks) “Sebastian Runge, accompanied by nearly all the other German players you know from Midland, that is my wife Kerstin, my son Marius, Birgitt & Dieter Hußmann, Regina & Oliver Schwarten, Irene & Dieter Hoffmanns.” Sebastian tells me that he will also have a translator, Birgitta ("Ditta") Brandriff who will assist as required. Birgitta is from Fairfax California. Just so each of us will be able to address our hosts by their first names; we have included a photo with the name of most of our hosts. There will be a test!!! lol
Following lunch at "Das kleine Steakhaus" we will have a wonderful opportunity to experience the Cologne Cathedral, the seat of the Archbishop of Cologne. The Cathedral is renowned as a monument of Christianity, of Gothic architecture and of the faith and perseverance of the people of the city in which it stands. The cathedral is a World Heritage Site, being one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany, and Cologne's most famous landmark, described by UNESCO as an "exceptional work of human creative genius". Cologne Cathedral is one of the world's largest churches.
If you would like to learn more about the Cologne Cathedral we suggest you go to this Site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne_Cathedral
After the tour of the Cathedral we check into our Hotel. We are on our own for dinner and after dinner, those who wish may partake in a guided walking tour. We may tell you a little more about the Walking Tour in a later entry. Blogger Stan 2008-04-11

Out of all the great sites we are going to see, the Cologne Cathedral is the one we are most anxious to tour. The architecture is unlike anything we have seen, and the reports of those that have witnessed this building are all so positive. Sign us up for the walking tour also!
