GERMANY LAUNCHES 2008 SHUFFLEBOARD SEASON!!
As we are going to Germany and as a high percentage of our INAUGURAL HOSTS achieved distinction in the very first 2008 German Shuffleboard Tournament, I thought it appropriate that we highlight those wins and say something about our hosts.
Sebastian Runge finished in 1st place. The GSA maintains accurate records and as I recall, Sebastian was the Shuffler with the most wins in 2007!! Take a look at that pic of Sebastian!! It looks like it was taken right after the win!! Lol. Sebastian’s wife Kerstin is a competent shuffler and will be “on the scene” for the German leg of the Inaugural. The Runge family has coordinated the entire day in Cologne including the hotel and lunch arrangements, the tour of the Cathedral, and have offered to give a night walking tour of the city. SOUNDS GREAT!!!
Back to that 2008 Shuffleboard Opener for a minute: Family Hussmann had two members of their family in the top 3 finishers!! And, GSA President Dieter was not among them. That leaves in the Winner’s Circle, “Mom Birgitt” and son Torben. Shown is a pic of Torben receiving a SPECIAL AWARD at the 26th ISA in Midland.
BIRGITT & DIETER The Hussmanns have organized the trip from Cologne to Langenselbold.
The Hussmanns have organized the trip from Cologne to Langenselbold, including all lodging, meals, excursions, shuffleboard demonstration and grand finale banquet. This takes a lot of time and is appreciated by all of us!!!!!! We will be seeing a good deal of both Family Runge and Family Hussmann!!!

Thank you to both the Runge family and the Hussmann family for all they do for shuffleboard. Our sport is better off because of the efforts of both of these great families and we are grateful for alll they are doing for the Holland/Germany Inaugural.
