We made plans to have a night with Ines at a small vineyard bed and breakfast outside of Meissen. On our way, we stopped for a self guided tour of Meissen Cathedral. Let me just say, I am certain I have never seen a more beautiful structure in my life. I couldn't take enough pictures to do justice but honestly, it was just beyond amazing. As soon as you entered the cathedral, it smelled musty (aka historic!). There was an organ player filling the cathedral with sounds of a traditional church music and then the sense of sight as your eyes scanned every detail of the building. Yesterday morning started with a walk to the bakery all by myself! Proudly, I was able to order the rolls and bienenstich for our breakfast, pay, and find my way back the the bungalow on my own while Ralf did his morning run. I fumbled through the order in German and then at the end the clerk asked "Is there anything else"?! Still glad I tried in German but I have found that many shopkeepers and waitresses speak some English and are happy to oblige. Many restuarants even offer a menu written in English upon request. Germany is a very friendly country from what I have experienced. After breakfast we took off for Meißen where we toured the famous Meißen china museum. Today we went to Meissen, the birthplace of porcelain in Europe. It was a much later start than we were used to, which was really nice, so we got to sleep in a bit. And Jamie and I headed over early so that we could figure out what to do with her ticket, since she actually had to buy one. The trip over wasn't long by train and it was a GORGEOUS day. The first thing we did was to walk up towards the castle which took some time and we passed it from a distance from the bridge on our way from the station.
