Hello again,
The rest of our stay in Paris was delightful. We went to the Musee des Invalides on Saturday which was full of different exhibits about French war and warfare. While some of the shows were a little bit biased towards the French, it was overall interesting and at times very touching. Napoleon's grand tomb is also quite a sight- the little man with a big ego outdid himself in death.
We walked to the Jardin du Luxembourg (another garden worth a visit) and had a nice read. We had the most expensive hot chocolate I've ever drunk (at 6 euros for a cup!) but it was also the best I've tasted so I'll grant it was worth the cost. We stopped by the appartment on Rue St. Germain where my grandparents used to live. Then we had a wonderful cleaning party at the appartment to the "sounds of the big chill generation" CD.
We made it to Frankfurt safe and sound, and Kirsten (for those of you out of the loop she's a relative on my dad's side) met us at the train station. She is beyond nice and english speaking so it's been really great.
We made a pasta dinner, then went out to a local pub to meet up with some of her friends. Today she took us to see Frankfurt after we made a pancake breakfast. Her friend Sarah, who had stayed with us while traveling with Kirsten, also came to help with the tour.
Emily and I rounded this out with a spot of shopping- Frankfurt is much less expensive than Paris, though I am still pretending I can't work out how much it costs with the exchange rate. Some things are better left unknown.
All in all its been a great way to enjoy the 21st!
My USB drive for my camera can't fit onto this computer, but asap I'll have another slew of pictures up. Hold on there, I know its tough.
