I have arrived in Frankfurt unscathed. After a long flight into Iceland, then to Germany, I am TIRED! I am quite thankful that I don't have any bags getting lost stories to write about. Everything went more smoothly than I expected... in fact, as i was exiting baggage claim, i was confused because there was no customs. There was no one there to check my bag and grill me about why I'm coming to Europe and for how long. I had even went over my answers in my head... nope, just a door and a my friend Katrin and her mother waiting for me on the other side. Katrin, and ex-co-worker, is originally from Frankfurt and happens to be in town visiting for two weeks. She and her family has graciously invited me to stay with them and show me around. I could not have asked for a better begging to the trip. Sometimes things just work out.
We will be touring around Frankfurt for the next few days, then I'll be moving on. Maybe South through Switzerland... who knows. But I do know that while I'm here, I'll be in good hands with Katrin. I'll write again in the next couple of days... but for now, reader, know that i'm alive, well, and probably asleep right now.

Hi Honey, It was so good to hear that you are in Frankfurt and you are "just" tired, no other complications. You have a great beginning to your life adventure. Pleae give my thanks and appreciation to Katrin and her family for letting you stay with them. That has comforted me to know that you're with friends and are safe while you adjust to the time and to the European continent. I love you and I look forward to more news of your travels. Love, Mom
What a great and enjoyable surprise to get the email saying you arrived in Frankfurt and to read your comments about the trip. I had forgotten about you telling us about the Blog you were going to keep. This will be a real pleasure to follow your trip notes. I'm glad it worked smoothly with Katrin and her Mom picking you up. Being able to stay with them is a great start for your trip. It will give you the chance to catch up on some rest during the first couple of days as you make that body clock transition. You're on your way to a great trip Son. We'll stay in touch as you travel.
Dad
I have thrown away my TV because all I want to do is come home and read you journals. Go make the world small.
Since both the 'rents posted, I might as well too. Glad you got there safe, sorry you're tired, glad you have a place to stay. Tips: Try not to use catch phrases/bad German. We all see how far that got JFK (we all remember he was shot and that he was a jelly donut). Um, it's not Mexico, so feel free to drink the water. Love ya kiddo, have fun for me.
