Well after a quick stop over in Vienna it was onto the busabout circuit again and off to Munich.
Hostel was great, wombats seem to have it down pat i must say. When i arrived i met a cool as canadian couple and another fellow aussie who were all in my room. Despite being tired as the guys in my room managed to drag me out to the hafbrauhouse (unsure of spelling and cant check it right now). This place was pretty special, despite being all touristy, it was pretty impressive to see 1lt beer glasses, and even more impressive to see the waiters carry 4 in each hand!!!!
Feeling a bit seedy the next morning so i lazed around for a while before setting off into the city. Managed to see quite a lot including the massive shopping area mariaplatz and the english garden which featured a surf wave in the river and many beer gardens. unfortunately i didnt get to see anyone surfing the wave, much to my disappointment.
A quiet one that night as we were all still wrecked from the night before. The next morning myself, the aussie girl i met and some different
canadians went off to neuschwestien( totally spelt it wrong im sure) castle which is the castle in the disney logo. It was a nice 2 hour train ride away so it was an all day affair. The weather was terrible however the castle was amazing the way it was perched up on the hill!! quite an interesting place.
That night everyone from my room had some celebratory drinks as we were all parting ways the next morning. All in all munich was great fun, met some great people and drank a lot of beer!!!
p.s did you know they spend 3 months setting up for oktoberfest, for a 3 week festival, then spend 2 months taking it all down!!!
