We flew into Munich and were so happy with the sudden change of culture from Italy. Had a really nice flight too as Murda, Mo, and me all got to sit in the same aisle together. The flight attendants were blonde germans and super friendly as well. But of course, after landing in Munich- we had to overcome some more drama as two of our bags weren't there (Mo's and mine) ugh!!! Luckily, they showed up at the hotel 2 days later, but i thought for sure i wasn't ever gonna see that bag again....whew!
Munich had great public transportation though (and you don't even have to pay!! at least, we never did and no one caught us! My friend Stef later told me that they do monitor that and you can face a fine- we got lucky though i guess!! haha...anyways-it dropped us off right in front of our hotel (another really nice room too!! good work Murda!)
We spent some time walking around Marienplatz, shopping (love that we can buy cool Euro soccer gear over here), and trekking to the top of St. Peters Church for a gorgoeus view...but mostly in Munich we drank beer! cuz it
Munich/Beerhall our waitress and me and the beer hall where we got into a belching competition with one of the locals!
was so good and we have fun doing that! The Germans are so friendly and know how to have a good time. We went to the Weiss Brewhaus, the Hofbrau Haus, and some other small beer house with great food near the shopping district downtown. Mo and i went out clubbing one night as well with my friend Stefanie who lives in Germany and came down to hang out.
Munich also marks the beginning of the Euro road trip! Family freind Lauren Calovich and her friend from school Ralph met up with us and we drove to the Neuschwanstein castle near Fussen (this was the castle that inspired the walt Disney castle). Stef made fun of us for going ("No German has ever been there. Only Japanese and American tourists!"), but i'm glad we did because it was beautiful! - the bridge over looking the castle and the castle overlooking swan lake and all the scenery of the surrounding towns....Mad King Ludwig knew how to build a home! We dropped Lauren and Ralph off at the trainstation and were on our way!
Munich-Sunshine clubSo, Mo was really excited about her new friend (behind her-guy was so drunk he couldnt even sit up) and her membership to the Sunshine club (seedy hole in the wall gay bar)
