After The GameAfter The GameAfter The Game

All smiles
Well, yesterday we had the great pleasure of seeing the mighty Socceroos...sorry QANTAS Socceroos play against the might of Liechtenstein. Althought the score was 3:1, Australia scored all 4 goals. There must have been atleast 1,000 Aussies there which was kinda weird because Ulm is such a small town. Of the ones we talked to there seemed to be a fairly even mix of those who live in Germany, those who are backpacking around Europe and those who were there just the World Cup.

Kristian and I donned some green and gold face paint, and bought some Aussie flags. Anja became an honourary Australia for the game and even let me paint a small Aussie flag on her cheek. She was a bit confused about the whole Jumbuck in a Tuckerbag thing though. Actually as a language student she is quite interested in the english language, and as someone that has spoken it for a while I feel I can give some kind of answer to most questions. The Australian national anthem however I have no idea about. Who says girt??. Girt by sea? Have you ever thought in an action film that the hero is in trouble because he

This is a town Bob, kristians dad, visited when he was in Germany. The day we went there luckily coincided with a Medieval festival and everyone in the town was dressed in clothes from the middle ages, they alson had a big parade, it was really good.
is girt by henchmen? Or ever explained that mowing your lawn is a such a chore because your house is girt by grass? I saw a comedian once that made a good point when he said that it almost sounds as if we are boasting. Like we girt the country ourselves. "Yep, I've done a bit of work on the place. When I got here there was nothing around it but I just girt it with a bit of sea and now its much better." Its crazy.

Tomorrow we are getting up at 6am for the Autobahn ride to Münich where the opening game of the World Cup will be. And its a German game, and the beer halls, and the 1 litre steins, and the bratwurst.......so so good. We are staying with Anja's friend Sabine, which helps because they aint nowhere else to stay in Munich or anywhere. And so it will begin, one full month of football, so good. Rememeber those bush bands that used to come to your school and one guy always had a stick with beer caps attached to it that was some sort of rythym instument, well we have been saving our beer

Anjas dad took us to this cave which is 530m long, it was fantastic. Originally he wanted to ride the 15km there but when he said it we thought he said 50km, and therefore at first were not so keen. It rained so we took the car.
caps to make a couple of them to bring along to the games. Of course that means that unfortunately we have had to drink beer in order to collect the caps, which both of us absolutely hate doing 😉

Hope all are well.

Go the Socceroos!!! (...sorry QANTAS Socceroos)

Looking very serious about a very serious job: Beer transportation. Buying multiple amounts avoids a so called "beer crisis", in which there is no beer but it is a very important part of the game so no one can leave to purchase it.

Harry Kewell played a good game for his return to internationals.

Hey guys how you doin? looks like youse are still well in control of your destiny and all but i wouldnt leave Pudd in control of the beer again, it looks like he drank half of them to save spillage.
