Lycee Lacassagne

I've received the information from the French government regarding my placement in France. I will be working for 7 months in a general/technical high school in the city of Lyon. I was mistaken in my first post and the work week for an assistant is only up to 12 hours. Working in the city of Lyon is a best-case-scenario since it is an actual city. My school is called Lycee Lacassagne and the students there are 15-18 years old. The school is in the third arrondissement (arrondissement is the word in French for a "section" of a city - in Lyon, there are 9 arrondissements and Paris has - I think - 20). The school is around the corner from the ice rink - although I'm not sure if I'll be skating at all while I'm there - but my friend has told me the students will be a little challenging. I'm sure that will just keep me on my toes! I have yet to hear from my contact person within the school but since school is out for the summer I don't expect contact too soon.

I have also been able to contact the Italian language assistant that will be at my school through facebook. Today we were sent a list of e-mails of the assistants in the region and we were able to creat a listserv to keep in contact. It's all getting much more real and it's pretty exciting! Still a little over 2 months until departure but there's a lot to get done!
