Nice was a relaxing stopover on the crazy European tour. It was a good sized city, and we wandered through the markets and were able to find great pastries everywhere. The real appeal about Nice is its fabulous weather, pristine beaches (albeit pebble beaches) and its beautiful people! We went for a walk up the steep point and got some great views along the coastline. We also went to the nearby towns of Grasse, where they are famouse for making French perfume, and Avignon, with its massive Papal palace where the Catholic Church had to escape to in the 12th century following a revolution in Italy. Both were well worth the visit, as was the lounging around the meditteranean seaside city of Nice.
