Roman Orange was founded in 35 BC.

It has probably the most impressive Roman theater in Europe. The theater is over 2,000 years old and can hold 10,000 spectators. Today, the theater hosts a well-known international opera festival, Chorégies d'Orange. Many famous opera singers have performed here.

The Triumphal Arch of Orange is believed to date back to the time of Augustus or Tiberius, although some say it dates much later, perhaps to Severan.

The theater and the arch are listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
