Map Title: Monaco, Monte Carlo to Cannes, France
Map Notes:

Cannes is famous for the film festival that is held there every May where the stars come out. I wanted to see where they go, and the red carpet areas that I have saw on the television. Just seventeen stops on the train and I would be there I thought. This sounds like a lot of stops, and it is, however at each stop, the train is only there at the stop for a few minutes, and it is off again. Once again as before my eyes were truly beholding beauty at it’s finest. The train ride exiting the Monaco/Monte Carlo area was simply put very beautiful. After about an hour and a half on the train, I arrive at the Cannes stop. I exit the train, and once again I wander where to go. I think to myself that I need to find a tourist area. I start walking in one direction, but I turn around and notice a tourist information office right beside the train station, so I back track and enter the office. I wait my turn and then go up to the counter to ask questions. I was given a map, and I asked specifically how to get to the area where the film festival was held each year. I was told the area, and off I went. I only had to walk about on-half to three quarters of a mile to arrive at this luxurious place. During my walk, what I began to notice were all of the palm trees. I knew I was in for a treat, so I keep trudging on. I get to the end of the street I was on, I look to my right, and I see a congregation gathering around a specific area. I knew I was getting close. I made my way to Grand Auditorium. It was magnificent to see. I made my way up the red carpet as most of the stars and paparazzi do, and I felt surreal. I stood there and looked around the below courtyard, and realized that I was in the exact place as so many of the movie stars that I have come to know through their movies. What a feeling that went over me. I then make my way down the red carpet and start looking around in the courtyard area. The courtyard had something similar to the Hollywood walk of fame. It had concrete pads with the stars hand prints and names. I walked around for a good little bit reading these, and thinking about where in the world I actually was at that point in time. I snapped some photos, and then I made my way to the beach area. The main area was beautiful, but when I made my way to the sea, which by the way was a very short distance from the Grand Auditorium, I just feel in love. I stood and gazed out at the sea, and felt like my mind and body were in the most beautiful place. I wanted to stay longer, but I had not really experienced Nice yet, so I make the decision to leave Cannes and head back to Nice to enjoy my last day. By this time it was probably around four to five o clock, and I knew the train ride would take a little time, and I wanted to see Nice in the day light, so I decide to head back to the train station. I make one more lap to the Grand Auditorium, nod my head and back to the train station I go. Again, Cannes is a beautiful place to be. I only wished I would have had more time to experience and enjoy the surroundings.
