We've been staying in the lovely Provencal town of Ansouis, in the Luberon hills region. Wine country and small beautiful hill towns. We are sharing a maison (small home) with our family - Roy's brother and sister and their spouses. The home is large, comfortable and located on the main street of this tiny place. One boulagerie (fresh baked croissants every morning), on bar across the street (Bar des sports) and one local Tabac (for daily English newspapers)....but alas, no internet cafe in this town. I'm currently using my brother-in-law's dial-up connection to post this quick note. very s-l-o-w, so no pictures posted until we arrive in Paris on the weekend. Each day here is a wonderful adventure...we toured the wine caves (cah-vaz not kaves) yesterday - even met a woman who was selling wine in the midst of the harvest season, so she gave us fresh grapes from the vines. marvelous...today we visited Rousillon, the location in which many of Paul Cezanne's paintings were created. Tomorrow is a market here in Ansouis. For the past two nights we've eaten dinners created from the bounty we find in the markets each day in the cities we visit....fresh cheeses, olives in garlic, smoked meats like boar and pork, fresh picked vegetables...amazing. Today is also Doug Joslin's birthday so we celebrated tonight by eating a variety of pastries from a patisserie in a small village we passed through on our way home at the end of the day. all of it....including the sunsets...is absolutely incredible. More from us as we make our way back to Paris for the weekend. Au Reviour!

To where it bent in the undergrowth, Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Though as for that, the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept th... full info
