Well, can I just say that life here is COMPLETELY different from life back home. I think culture shock might be starting to settle in...I only hyperventilated twice today so we're progressing! First off...the toilets. There's a little button to flush something small and there's a HUGE button to flush something, well, huge. Also, everything is about conserving energy and resources here. The lights in the hallway are on timers and they will go off after a minute or so, then you can just push a button for them to turn on again. The walking is a whole different story. I'm pretty sure if Americans had to walk this much all of a sudden, there would be riots. I know why French women don't get fat, they have to walk everywhere!! It takes me around 10 minutes to walk to school and then around 20 minutes to the market, post office, downtown area. I can literally walk all over this city and I pretty much have. It's such a beautiful city!! There's a HUGE castle that overlooks the river, downtown has the old buildings and magnificent cathedrals too. Also, there are hydrangea flowers that grow wild here...the are the most magnificent flowers I've ever seen!! Beautiful!! As much as I love it here there are a few things that have made me want to swim across the Atlantic and sprint home. Things such as:
-random monsoons that have soaked us on the way to class...twice.
-it's still pretty chilly here...i look so European with my layering techniques.
-blisters
-having class in only French...no English whatsoever.

I can't wait to tell you about the food here, but it's going to have to wait until tomorrow...this weird balding guy wants to use the computer and won't leave. Ugh. OH...I almost forgot!! I had a complete movie star kiss on the sidewalk under a street lamp last night!! I pretty much have a love interest...his name is Travis, he's 23, 6'6 and is Canadian!! He's really cute, eh? Anyway, life is okay right now aside from the fact that I miss all of you!! Come to France!

LOVE to you all!! I'll write more tomorrow!!

I'm currently a senior at Texas Christian University...only two semesters left. As if my looming adulthood wasn't daunting enough, I'm now booking it to France for the rest of the summer. I will be studying French language and culture...and missing my family and friends terribly! However, this will be my first time in Europe and I can't wait. Cheers to great stories and experiences to come home with! A bien-tot! Visited Countries Map ... full info
