Bonjour! So yesterday the day in toulouse was a complete waste of my time, just a day long lecture about crap I already knew! I didnt return to the hut until 10.30pm so it was a seriously long day for nothing! Anyway I woke up this morning at 7.30 and as I started getting ready there was so much noise I wondered what was goign on, veronique the woman staying with us he lives at the school told us the students were striking today, but I didnt catch the reason why. I had a lesson at 9.30 so I made my way to the lycee there were no teachers in the staff room and only about 3 students in sight I went up to the room I was meant o tbe in but there was no ... read more

Where do I begin! Had a lesson at 8.30 to 9.00, this was with BTS class this was a group of students who had passed there baccaulareat and were doing an accountancy course at the lycee. They were probably the same age as me. The lesson was good they actually bothered speaking to me. One girl in particular was loving it and even asked if we could do a french english exchange at some point when i finish if not could she come to england with me.... Then the teacher asked them if they knew of any places in the area I could go like clubs and bars etc. That was then I found out there is a really cheesy disco at the bowling centre bowling been pronounced as bow-ling so thats a cheesy night to ... read more

This morning Gilles took courtney and I too see the chalets. They were really cheap around 300 per month but the bills were not included the man said that overall each month he thought it would be around 400. Which would be perfect for us, that been said the chalets were not the best. Definitley not an upgrade from the hut and there was wifi we could connect to but it would depend on the range so the chalets are definitly out of the question! After our visit to the chalets I went into the school to ask about starting my lessons, and to my luck two of the teqchers, claire and isabelle, were in the staff room and they sorted out a few hours that they would need me for. NOw I have a very ... read more

Hey I need to update my blog after my first official lesson. so I thoguht the first lesson this morning was bad, that was nothing compared to the one i had at 5 o'clock. So I Claire had given me some sheets to read before hand about random adverts and about selling the advertising rights. This was ok until Claire then introduced me to the class by saying I will be taking the class on my OWN *alarm bells!!!*while she took a pupil at a time for a mock oral. The adverts she wantedf me to discuss were crazy and i didnt understand them myself let alone explain them!! So I started the lesson which was ok but the kids just sat there blankly barely talking it was like pulling teeth; BUt it was good seen ... read more

Woke up around 10.30 the first time I have actually slept in! I decided today would be a lazy day and so far it has. After waking up I had a cereal bar and yoghurt for breakfast, exciting I know. I would have much preferred a fry up after my lie in to fit in with the lazy Sunday theme, however that is never going to be possible here, so to compensate I got another healthy dose of R.Pattz. Chilling in bed watching new moon I knew today was going to be good. I then tidied up the hut a bit, trying to make it look somewhat like a home rather than the dump it is. I cleaned the manky shower and now it is rather bearable. There are two showers here in the hut one ... read more

My first amazing non negative day in Millau and FOOD! This morning around 9.30am Claire called us and asked us if she needed her to see the apartment we found, but as the estate agent was shut she said she would meet us to go over the contract for the apartment and then find some other options. So at 11 Claire picked us up and gave us a newspaper with the apartments to rent in, after picking out a few Claire rang them and arranged two visits, we went to see the first one straight away but it was un-furnished and too small for what we wanted. The second viewing wasn’t until one so we went for some lunch at ‘Zest’ which is a lovely patisserie come restaurant with cakes that look more like an art ... read more

Today has been good. We left the hut around 9.30 I went to the administration office to give the woman, who I’m beginning to feel is less than helpful and wants to do as little work as possible, my bank details so hopefully I can get some of my pay earlier than November which would be a nice help. After that Courtney and I headed into town, I had a delicious pain au chocolat from the patisserie on the way yum yum! Once in town we went round the market that took over the whole town, it was great I bought some scarves as Claire told me that it is important for women to cover up there neck and lent me hers. So I thought I would buy a nice pink and green colourful one and ... read more

Yesterday courtney and i set off around 11 oclock to millau, when we arrived we met her responsable and got shown around the town. it was fantastic... until we arrived at my school I spoke with my responsable and she told me to come see here the next day at 8.30 then we saw our accommodation... it was hideous, so dirty and empty. there were two bedrooms that we could have they were equally as disgusting. There were a room with two showers, and a 'kitchen' i say 'kitchen' as it was a fridge a hotplate a kettle a microwave and " bathroom sinks... yes exactly how strange, no work tops or anything! After fits of tears courtney and i have decided to move asap! we went for a walk into town to clear our heads ... read more
