We woke up after having an amazing sleep cos there are 2 doors between the lounge and mum and my bedroom in this hotel so no audible snoring!! Whoop whoop! We had already booked a tour for today but none of us really knew what it involved so we figured out the metro and headed down to the depot of where the bus tour started. The day had started with some sun which we were all excited about but as we were lining up for the bus it started bucketing down with rain and it is the only day so far we hadn’t bought an umbrella with us! So we all got soaked! But was great to get in the bus. We did an hour and a half tour around Paris where I listened to the kids commentary! Was great! We then arrived at the Eiffel Tower and were all a bit confused and disappointed as the tour guide told us that the lifts weren’t operating properly at the moment so none of us could go up today L But when we hopped off the bus and our lil group who were hoping to have lunch at level one, got together she told us that we could go up but the other group couldn’t?! Weird but whatever, we went with it! So, off we went and queued up for our lift which only took about 30mins so not too bad cos there were queues for milesssss for the regular line for the lifts! Mind you 10mins of it was in another huge downpour of rain!! Up we went to level one which had a pretty cool view already actually so took a few pics there and went and sat down in the restaurant. Include in our tour we got a main, dessert, wine and coffee which was a bit of a treat aaaaand topped off by dad actually claiming to us that it was “THE best meal he has ever had!” which prompted us of course to be like really?! Ever?! Thats a big call! And he was like “yep it was great!” We said “even better than your amazing pork 2 nights ago?”...”oh no maybe not!” haha so maybe not quite the best ever but it was good!! J

Once we had finished lunch we went back outside and mum decided she was not gonna walk up to level 2 with us so she stayed down the bottom and dad and I started walking up. We got about ½ way and dad started not feeling great and wanted to go back down to level 1. So slightly disappointed we went down again. Ill do it with the others when they arrive and go right to the top which will be good! So we went back downstairs to take some pics and it started pouring again just as we were trying to start taking some jump shots!! We and the camera got absolutely soaked!! Then it promptly completely stopped and we spent the next hour and half teaching dad how to capture jump shots and still not really achieving many amazing ones! But its early days, plenty of time to practice. And on 2 brighter notes dad did a jump shot and mum did a perfect handstand legs together!

After we all walked away from the Eiffel Tower with sore knees from jumping so much we headed down to the water to get on our river seine boat cruise! Because the weather looked bad they weren’t taking as many people on each boat cos not the whole boat was under cover So unfortunately we missed out when we first arrived and were the first people in the next queue for the cruise in 30mins time! So close. And the weather got bad!! Just as they predicted! It thundered, poured horizontally and actually hailed! Yes hail...in the middle of summer!! So we got soaked standing undercover with our jackets on and then hopped on the next cruise. It was pretty good and they had audio guides which gave us a alot of info but cos it was so wet we didn’t get to take any pics through the window but alot of the places we are planning on seeing tomorrow.

After the cruise we headed back to the hotel to meet matt and patsy, and ben and kate for dinner. Mum and dad hadn’t met ben before and I hadn’t met kate (bens sister) so that was really good! We had a good dinner after finally finding a place that could hold ‘sept’ people!! We all went our separate ways to diff hotels relatively early as Patsy has planned us a very full on but good sounding day tomorrow starting early!! Despite the huge amount of rain we had a great 1st full day in Paris!
