Yeah, we are still in Paris, but this internet s so cheap, and we keep finishing up the day so much earlier than in London, that this just seems like the best thing to do.
Today was a fun day. We had planned last night to be waking up at around 8:00, and so we set the alarm as such. It went off as planned, however, I insisted that, as I was very tired, we sleep for five more minutes. They passed far to quickly, so I aksed for another ten.... needless to say, we woke up at 9:45.... yeah, go us. Its okay though, we needed to sleep in a bit. So it was good.
After we woke up, we made our way to the train station and off we went to Versailles. This was really neat as I had learned about it in school over the past three years and had basically had it drilled into my brain. I thought, what better way to reinforce it than to see the actual building? So we did. The train ride was not very long and when we got to Versailles, we ate lunch and had what I think would be one of the best sundaes of my ice cream eating career.... It was huge and had whipped cream everywhere. Honestly, whatever weight I hav lost from all the walking in coming back ten fold with all of the dessert I am eating... however, in my professional opinion, it is most definetly worth it. We then walked over to the palace and stood in line for what felt like 3 hours. Honestly.... hte line ups here are insane. And finally we made it and we bought our ticket which was 12 euros. However, we were unsure of what this ticket offered for sightseeing, so we decided to use our best judgement and wander aimlessly until we saw all we wanted or until we were kicked out.
The good thing is that we got to see a lot of the palace that way (we thought ourselves to good for the audioguides and gave ourselves a tour on our own) and actually we think we might have seen some stuff that we werent supposed to with our tickets, due to the guard being distracted and not looking at the ticket I had in my hand, but rather, some other things a little ways up.... honestly, the men here have no shame.
So we did that, which was fun and we felt even more cultured... which, by now, our culture meter is like through the roof....and we headed back to good old Paris. We got here, and Jackie discovered that she had ripped her pants in the rear. I tried to stifle my laugh, though quite unsucessfully -seriously, Jackie and pants on this trip are the worst possible combo. I am not letting her near mine heheheh... - So, we made our way as quickly as possible back to our hostel, Jackie bashfully holding her purse over her rear the whole way. Quite funny. I dont think that the rip was all that bad though, as it was hot and I am sure the extra draft was welcomed even if the hole was not.... poor Jackie.
And now, here we are back in the internet cafe, our final night in Paris. Even though I am having an awesome time, i am still missing everyone and everything back at home. Looking foreward to seeing everyone upon my return! So, this is Sarah, signing off from Paris!
