My friend Martin now lives in Paris, and I decided to come visit for some three weeks. I got to see the Louvre and the Île de la Cité, Montmartre, Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and all the usual sights. What a nice trip!

Martin lives in the 10e arrondissement, a rather colourful part of town. I liked that we were very close to a small alleyway where there are many Indian restaurants. Good, cheap eating.

Paris is quite expensive, even when staying with a friend. My tip for saving money is to pick up a sandwhich at a bakery for lunch. You'll get a fine one for less than 6 euros, restaurants will charge you twice that amount!

Also of note, for the non-Europeans: July is sales season. Martin and I both got a lot of new additions for our wardrobes!

Hence the title of this blog, 'Scholar without Borders'. ... full info
