church of the Hoy Cross
Our Hotel Marlene was in a little township called Le Blanc close to Orleans. It was a stately home and the interior was decorated by a lover by all things unusual. Little cages with birds, chicken on nests, all sorts of Urns and Vases. The house has some old timbers worked into the modernisation which dates from the late 1700. and that was not all what was unusual. With breakfast we usual have a boiled egg so Liz got some eggs and cracked one to eat. Plop, she had a roar egg on her plate. She should have payed attention. On the wall was the picture of a chook on a nest. Underneath it said uncooked eggs. She did read it but it looked like an other one of those little treasures around the house. On the tabel stood an electric contraption which looked like a large toaster. Lift the lid and you see it has boiling water with strange metal egg nets in it. Look at the photos it will tell you. She was not the only one it happen to. It was so Funny. Now about Orleans. It looks like we only walk around Cathedrals, but this where all the

history of towns lay. It this case Joan of Arc. The name is Cathedral of the Hoy Cross. The first chapel in the Apse dates from the 13th century. In 1429 Joan of Arc came to pray here. Than the big religious war started and a large section was destroyed by the Huguenots. Than from Henry the 4th and Louis the 13th started the rebuilding through to mid 1900. There is an Archiological side underground which was opened in 1937, which dates from the 4th till the 11th century. But ir was closed. The church houses also the Knights of Lazare.
