The Notre Dame
On the first night in Paris we woke up at 4 a.m. That is to early and it was easy to back to sleep. 7 O"Clock was the second awakening. We took it really easy and found out that the Notre Dame was in walking distance of the Hotel. A really interesting street that took us to the Notre Dame. Lots of jewelers, beads, shoe and bag shops. A real cool leather bag caught our or better Liz's eye. But badly, or maybe good luck all shops in this street were whole salers. You need to spent Euro 500, that is $ 625 to be able to purchase some item in one of those shops. The paricular bag costed just Eur 65 that is about $80. After walking accros the Seine, we arrived at the Notre Dame. There was a line up to get into the church but it did not take long. It gave you time to see the facade wiith all those statues and they are amazing. There was a display of St Theresa of Lisieux. She was one of nine children and one of the most known Saints in France. The lead light windows all through the church
inside the church no flash
are absolutely beautiful. Next year the church will be 850 years old. You wonder how they build it, no cranes, no cement all stone work. Obviously no 20 kilo weight for those builders. You walk through in awe. At night feed the hungry, than a shower and into bed. Very tired of course. Bye Liz & Allan.
