What I meant to type was: PARIS. We've been in this wonderful city for four days and we still haven't mastered the French keyboard. Merde.
Claudia and Michel had their first crème brûlée tonight at Léon. It will be easy to beat in our search for the best. To give you an idea, it was so un-fresh we had to ask for a "réchauffage." Tonight was also our first taste of the typical Parisian hospitality. (Merde.)
On the other, more important hand, Paris has been a gustatory and visual delight. What have we seen?
Shirtless Breakdancing Buskers in Place St-Michel, Airborne Puppy on a Leash in Parc des Batignolles, Hungry Baguette-Eating Chickadees at Notre-Dame, Conveyor Belt Sushi in Printemps Hausmann Dept. Store, Routinely Involved Chess Players at le Jardin du Luxembourg, Tired Tourists at Opera Garnier ...
Oh, and the tour Eiffel.
Stangely enough, it is not the Parisians' extravagant lifestyles and amazing clothing that we covet, (Claudia: okay, maybe the clothing; A little.) but their ingenious community cycling system: VELIB'! Bikes are freely used and parked around the city for a VERY small fee and at a great conveniene. Unfortunately, we're unable to use the system because of our lack of compatible credit cards, so we're left with very well-toned feet.
Museums? Tomorrow.
Also on the menu for Michel's birthday (Happy Birthday Michel! - July 10), Theatre Mogador proudly presents ... LE ROI LION/THE LION KING The Broadway Musical! Woo!
We'll be back soon after, but take a look at some of our shots. The best picture-taking has taken place in the least expected places. You might not recognize Paris through our lens, but we're pretty sure you'll like it!
