Alrighty! So... Where did I leave off :)...
So, i said goodbye to Kris (ouch) and then took the train to Dublin and then I went right to the airport to see if I could make a flight to Paris, but I didn't so... yes... I slept in the airport (hi Sarah!)... It wasn't that bad because after my Guiness, I slept for about 7 hours... got awoken a few times, but no biggie. As most of you know, I can pretty much sleep anywhere.
So, flight was fine and on the bus on the way into Paris, I spoke with a nice Northern Irishman about tons of stuff to do with his country. I got the hostel (3 Ducks) and couldn't check in so I went to Musee D'Orsay instead.
It was beautiful, but the lines were long. Art was gret, but I kinda went through fast. I was in a little bit of a freak out mode... kinda like Dublin again, but I knew I would adjust. I just wasn't really talking to anyone... nor were they talking to me. Paris is huge and definately not my kind of city, but I liked see the things
I wanted to see. I went to the Arch De Triomphe (please excuse my french spelling) and walked the Champe De Elysse (street with a shit load of stores and restaurants on it). It really was beautiful but full of tourists!
So, I managed to "gather" myself and head back to my hostel. There I met my roomates Joaquin (Argentina), another girl who I can't remembe her name and David (California) and asked if anyone wanted to go to the Eiffel tower... they all said yes and then I pursuaded them to climb it as well! We went with another kid named Josh (England) and got there and bought a bottle of wine (or 3 maybe) off of some guy who was selling them in the park. The tower was amazing and we were "donated" bread and stinky cheese... thank goodness!
It was really fun. We met another guy in the park, Daniel (US), and we walked up the tower to the 3rd floor... woah! That was quite the climb. you would have all be very proud of me.
After that was over, we got very tired underneath the tower with a couple people we had met
from Rome (americans attending school there)... that was a blast. We returned the the hostel and crashed... of course. I woke up early, cooked eggs and headed out for the days adventures. First, I unloaded my memory card (which is why you have pictures now!), then i headed to the Louvre. Now, I haven't gotten lost in Paris yet... even on the subway... (see all, I CAN do it!) but i certainly got lost in the Louvre, so I just kinda gave up and saw the Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa...
... along with some kick ass sculptures... 3 hours was just about enough for me! Headed to Jim Morrison's grave next... then over to Saint Chappel (a really cook Gothic church next to Notre Damne) Went to ND...
... next and met Shiry (my mother's friend who accepted a package for me containing a new jacket, bakcpack, all of my music... thanks Sol... and a couple other little things I needed... THANK YOU SO MUCH MA AND SHIRLY!)... She treated me to a glass of wine, we talked and then I was on my way. Cooked dinner at the hostel and soon I will be on
my way to the Tower again to climb and ride to the top... That was so fun I have to do it again!
Thanks for listening all off to Spain tonight!
:) Jess
