Today 3 couples who had never met, joined together for lunch in a Paris Mini Fodors GTG. All we had in common was we post on the Fodors Travel Forum.
We chose to meet at Cottage Marcadet in the Montmartre district of Paris. This restaurant has only been open for a year and a half and according to positive reviews by Zagats and Pudlo it is well on its way to some notoriety. Our appetizers varied from saumon fume, pied de veau, a veloute de roquette de fleurs, and a risotto avec legumes.
We chose plat principals of caille rotie, lapin, cabillard and a vegetarian selection.
a wonderful St Emillion was there to enjoy.
None of us had dessert but the delices were marvellous.
One couple lives in New Hampshire, one lives in Denver Colorado and one lives in Northern Ontario.
It was amazing how well we got along (I think). Conversation revolved around travel and France seems to be a favorite of us all, Paris particularly. We chatted about apartment vs. hotels, Province, carry on vs checked luggage, travel security, feelings about Italy, French food vs American food and why some of us don't want to try anywhere other than

France. Shower peculiarities in France kept us laughing for awhile. Of course we discussed restaurants we liked.
Then some of us go to talking about important things like bass fishing vs. walleye fishing.

Really enjoying the blog, have to miss it for a week while I'm in London, looking forward to catching up when I get back. Love the addition of the pictures. Hope my apartment rental goes as smoothly as yours!!
I thought at first that "Paris Mini GTG" was a small municipal rail transit facility, perhaps a shuttle service. Then the light dawned!
Thanks for the additional identification of the group by names. I can guess who's from Northern Ontario (the plaid shirts give that away), but who is from New Hampshire and who from Colorado?
With that information I should be able to sort out the salmon/cod and quail eaters from the rabbit and veal-foot eaters. But who had the rocket soup (explodes on contact with saliva, no doubt) and who was tickled by the funny mouthful of foie gras?
Glad you all had a good time. Food looks fabulous. I enjoyed my GTG this past May in Paris. Monica
